Weekend: Showing Your Colors
Friday April 2, 2010
There's a gripping planetary storyline this weekend that collides the energies of Taurus and Leo. Since it engages the personal planets (Venus, Mercury, Mars), there can be erotic tensions, but it also potentially intensifies any relationship frustrations. It can force out -- perhaps in a raw and unladylike (or ungentlemanly) way -- what your demands are, and what you've set your heart on. But if you stay open-hearted to this face-off of fixed signs, this square can rouse you out of apathy, firing you up to persevere through heavy 3D realities, and your own stagnation, to pursue your heart's desires.
First off, there's the move of Mercury into sound-thinking Taurus today. It's a slower mental rhythm that's more thorough. You can carefully consider what's solid, has value, or is pleasing to the senses.
On Saturday, Venus (Taurus) and Mars Leo come into a sparky square that forces relationships out of complacency. Sometimes anger has an enlivening effect, and puts color in your cheeks. I'd personally like to see more righteous indignation. Martial anger is motivating, and could help you push through creative blocks. And luckily, the Moon is in Sagittarius all weekend, making it possible to find the positive side of what's happening.
On Sunday, Mercury (Taurus) is square to Mars (Leo), bringing intensity to all exchanges. It can heat up the urgency of being able to tangibly express what's in your heart. The plot twist comes with the trine to Pluto (in deep earth Capricorn) after these catalyzing squares. First Venus trines Pluto on the 4th, and Mercury trines Pluto on the 6th. After dealing with what's dredged up, there can be a great settling in, and a relief. You can relax on terra firma, knowing that it's more real and therefore more stable ground to build on.
The clash of earth (Venus/Mercury in Taurus) and fire (Mars Leo) is symbolic of creating new lands, the way that volcanos create islands out of the ocean. So the aspects this weekend may be unsettling, but after the dust settles, it feels more real.
