Kaleidoscopic Gemini
Saturday June 13, 2009
The messenger Mercury moves into its own sign Gemini today. It's speedily moving toward fresh new territory, past the 1 degree Gemini point that began the most recent retrograde cycle. The word kaleidoscopic is used a lot to describe the Gemini mind. It fits so well; the kaleidoscope is a toy with mirrors and bits of colored paper or glass inside; they form everchanging patterns reflected by the light. In playful Gemini, Mercury is quick to arrange all that's seen and heard into a dazzling array.
Each tidbit picked up from neighbors, friends, the media, siblings, colleagues is mixed up in the mental blender. Like within the kaleidoscope, some pieces just reflect the light or mood of the moment. For flexible Mercury in Gemini, no situation is set in stone, nothing too "factual" to go undebated....there's just always more to learn. And so, the picture is always changing.
With Mercury in Gemini through July 4th, we're better able to handle the strange and paradoxical. We can sift, sort and look logically at the conflicting info on the serious issues we are faced with -- the economy, the flu thing, the bizarre news about the environment (tadpoles falling out of the sky?!) The detachment of Gemini helps us step back from the frenetic currents around us, and marvel at the absurdity.
Mercury is taking us into new mental landscapes (June 15th), after the retrograde into heavy-duty Taurus. We suddenly see how easy it is to change our minds. With that, there's freedom to shuffle things around, and try a novel approach. The very kaleidoscopic picture is changing fast these days, and Mercury says, so can you!
