Soul Rest Month
Wednesday February 24, 2010
Yesterday I allowed myself the rare nap. And in my bed with a book, I really let go. In those times, when you emerge from a deep rest, it's amazing how awake you can feel afterwards. It's a chance to let your higher self -- the instinct for wholeness of the Virgin -- rearrange the pieces.
Physician and astrologer Christine Page writes that our body and mind let us know that we're needing change. We might be under a lot of stress trying to keep everything in control. Some symptoms of disharmony are feeling burned out, stretched too thin, overwhelmed, lost. Writes Page, "One day, we wake up to the fact that, despite all the tricks in the bag, we are lost, and we cry out to her: "I am ready. Close all the doors that are not in harmony with my soul and leave open or open those that are."
Today the Moon is in homey Cancer, and it's waxing to Sunday's Full Moon in Virgo. It's a good time to rest, and let the mysterious force of the inner healer (Virgo) take over.
