Moonday Spiraling: Quakes and Terra
Monday April 5, 2010
The astro blog-o-sphere is abuzz about yesterdays quakes, including a 7.2, in Southern California and Mexico. One astrologer, Richard Nolle of Astro Pro, is winning kudos from astrologers for calling it. He had cited a March 27-April 5th window for something big. He wrote, "Regulars know the drill for these storm and seismic risk periods: check the pantry, the bottled water and the "go bag", make sure the batteries are fresh and the tank is full."
Nolle's predictions are based on what he calls Mars Max (when Mars' orbit is close to that of the Earth), and the Full Moon's apogee (farthest away) or perigee (nearest). These quakes fall within days of the Full Moon in Libra, one that Nolle had said qualified to be called a SuperMoon (very powerful).
On top of that, Pluto is readying to station in deep earth Capricorn the 6th. This hints at unsettling movement from the depths and roots, way way down. This is happening both for the Earth, who is clearly in severe distress, and in our own lives.
And this morning, I'm thinking of Venus (in Taurus), who is so bright in the low Western night sky these days. This time of year, Venus is the Evening Star, outshining the other stars and planets. Venus is rising, you can say, and will become higher until it disappears around October. Venus in her earth Goddess voluptuousness calls us back to be in the garden of Eden (and eatin').
These quakes have a way of reminding us of the ground we're standing on. It's symbolic of Pluto Capricorn showing us that there are cracks in the foundation. That a lot of what's been built is not stable. That the planet is an entity that gives so much, and that we're reaping what's been sown. It's a great day to honor the Earth in some way, perhaps by indulging in a natural pleasure.
