Full Moon: Lost to the World
Wednesday August 25, 2010
It's been swampy wet and humid here, and that puts most everyone in a late summer stupor. Add the mystic's Moon, and it's a recipe for zoning out (in a good way). I did a few things yesterday that were very Pisces-Virgo: identified mushrooms (looking for the magic ones); dried out some books that got wet in the rain (page by page); did some research on lost worlds of the pre-Indian Moundbuilders.
We're also moving some of our stuff out of a storage unit, with boxes of things I chose at some point to keep, but forgot I even had. I went through some old journals, with pictures stuck in, and my late Dad's crossword puzzles. My Cancer Sun Dad was a soul mate, and slowly I've let go of his things, most recently an old jacket that smelled like cigarette smoke. But after he passed away, I saw the stack of completed crossword puzzles in a pile, and had to take one. Finding that yesterday -- this thing his did every morning -- brought back his spirit, as I could see him in my mind's eye.
Journals are a record of the soul's voice and it amazes me to read them. It's an oddly reassuring thing to read your own thoughts from years ago, and realize you've got the same longings. The same north star is there -- what stirs the heart -- but if I look at my daily life, it's clear so much has changed.
This is a Full Moon for fragments of feeling, impressions, memories that don't have to make linear sense. The Pisces Full Moon made me super sentimental about these artifacts of a past life, and a life that's no longer being lived (my Dad's). The Pisces-Virgo line is about that magic of how we go about filling our days, and what it says about who we are deep down. It's a great day to be lost to the world, but to find yourself and the soul voice that's always there
