Full Moon in Aquarius
A Light in the Darkness
By Molly Hall, About.com

The Full Moon is exact on Monday, July 26th, at 1:36 am UT, or shown in the chart for Sunday, July 25th at 9:36 pm Eastern US.

Shock of the New

Here we go. What a chart -- I'm getting a Uranian buzz just looking at it. The cardinal T-square in place now between Pluto/Uranus-Jupiter and Saturn. We can expect to see more supersized events that are an outer mirror of the urgency and anticipation many of us are feeling inside. We're in the middle of the ride -- a time to trust, keep breathing, and watch for the flashes that come out of the blue.

And now there's a Full Moon is in Aquarius, the sign of lightning and surprise inspiration. In the Thoth Tarot deck, Aquarius is the Star card, and it depicts the star goddess Nuit drawing down cosmic energies to Earth. Aquarius is the Waterbearer that grabs hold of currents seemingly beyond this world -- definitely at the leading edge of the known. Like Nuit's flowing hair, each of us have antennae that can pick up cosmic inspiration, and get a charge of optimism from it. And at this Full Moon, there's a potential to reach for something truly new and of the future -- to manifest more compassion, and innovation in service to humanity.

Sun and Moon

The Full Moon brings revelatory visions. In Aquarius, the light bulb goes off over our collective heads. Some dazzling ideas could drop into the collective stream that offer an alternative pathway. Even if we're alone on a mountaintop -- and Aquarius has its loner side -- we could sense the Big Mind of humanity.

It's a potent Full Moon, with Aquarius' ruler Uranus as a major player in Aries waking us all up at the zero point this summer. It's the fire of the passionate mind that's catching on. This Full Moon may give team humanity a jolt of confidence -- to believe in a brighter future -- in its intensifying struggle to overcome tyranny, and emerge into greater freedom.

Since the Moon is Full in Aquarius, we meet the cheerleader Leo Sun across the way. It alerts us to that truism that a way to the universal is through the personal. By expressing proudly who we are, and exploring our talents, passions, loves -- we gift that to the whole.

Courage to Look Beyond

In many ways, we're losing our bearings. We are letting go of the shore like the Hopi prophesy tells us, and must go on trust that the river has a destination. And being set adrift, we can find another kind of order in synchronicity, messages of guidance.

This Full Moon is like the preview of another way to live. Aquarius is the one plugged in to the cosmos, and at this lunar peak, we can too. Watch for strange, trippy, genius ideas, or random encounters with people that electrify your creative dreams.

Eye of the Needle

The cardinal t-square brings the urgent questions about how we're living with the Earth, to a breaking point. The other day, I saw this video, Eye of the Needle, with a Native American elder saying we're moving toward a stone wall -- a dead end -- because of how we've treated the Earth. He was asked to give native prophecy to some gray-haired businessmen. He said he could prophesy that in a year, they would not change. He asked them, "When do you cease to be a CEO and become a grandfather?" This kind of moral question, the Native elder said, was not considered, adding, "If you don't have a moral process in your governing law, you won't have a society."

Now that Saturn is in Libra, there's sure to be more muscle in the pressure to restore human conscience to how we shape society. It's the eye of the needle for humanity, with Uranus Aries at 0 urging us to make it a complete break from what's toxic in our lives. All the little choices each of us make, especially in the marketplace (Pluto Capricorn), add up to sea changes.

The Missing Corner -- Empathy, Emotional Intelligence, Caring

With a T-Square, we can find it useful to look at what completes the grand square. And here that's Cancer, the sign of the Mother, protecting young life, the oceans, the health of all our waters, our emotional health. In the longing for balance, we can reach for the sacred feminine, honor it in ourselves and our world.

In her Full Moon article, Cathy Lynn Pagano writes, "The Sun at 3* Leo: A middle-aged woman, her long hair flowing over her shoulders, in a bra-less, youthful garment. Since these symbols where first published, women have demanded and gotten their freedom. Middle-aged woman have the beauty of full maturity, the independence and hopefulness of youth, and the power to be anyone they want to be. This image reminds me of the Empress in the Tarot – maturity and youth, fruitfulness and fertility. This is a call to women especially to step forward with your vision and ideas."

There's a vast resource of awake, educated women that can be part of restoring the world to balance. This Full Moon could free women from the fear and mental shackles that hold us back, and lead to that stepping forward that's so on the verge of happening.
