It's not swine flu, but...

Hey everyone - I have been down with the flu and asthma all week. It isn't SWINE FLU but some other horrible throat irritating, voice stealing bug that has gone in to my chest and stirred up my asthma pretty badly. I've been in bed for the last couple of days - not such a bad thing since it is winter and we have had very cool winds of a day here. It is frustrating not being able to go outside though and breathe in the fresh air because when I do I get a lung full of pollen and dust and end up a real mess...

So for me, it is warm soup, a good book or three and lots of rest until I am fully recovered.

a Raven Flu? hahahaha joking. I am glad you feel better now. But Flu is a way of cleansing out.

Aaargh don't wish Bird flu on me too Moonie! No, it is simple allergies and dry cough. Yet another cleanse and release situation. Being a Kat I have 9 lives so this won't keep me down for long

Oh honey, sorry I havn't been around! My Mom has had problems and was even in and out of the emergency room recently. I hope by now you are feeling better.

Thanks so much Solane! She has been having difficulty breathing, ut so far all her tests are pretty normal. She did have low sodium level and was a bit anemic. Outside of that, they think it might be anxiety. She has an appointment with a lung specialist just in case. She misses my Dad something awfull!!! Been married for 63 years to him!!!! Sometimes she just thinks too much and really how you can you blame her ya know? We try to keep her company often and take her out to eat and stuff. Still...never in my life have I seen a love like theirs...ever!!!! It's a difficult road for her to have to travel and it breaks my heart.

Geez Nighty, so sorry to hear about your Mom. I can't begin to imagine what she must be going through, but I do know one thing - if you are anything like her then she has the spirit of a fighter! Breathing problems aren't fun. I can empathise with her because my asthma is heading towards chronic despite all my attempts to get it under control. FLu - allergies - asthma - dry cough...yada yada...at night I feel like I am suffocating. But, I have been reading Brandon Bays' book 'The Journey' and trying to take a new approach in dealing with it. She pioneered cellular healing through emotional release and funnily enough, death keeps coming up as a trigger for me. So that is where I am looking for the key to resolving this health issue. I am also resting and staying out of the cold biting winds. It seems every time I go to town I come back with a new bug. Same for my oldest son with the tonsil trouble. We went shopping today and now he is so swollen in the neck and raspy voiced that it makes me wonder if going anywhere is worth it.

Thanks for your concern guys - I am not out of the woods yet so to speak, but I am certainly taking notice of the trees! I know this is gonna be one of those slowly but surely patience-inducing experiences for me.

Night Star, I am sending you and your Mom my love and well wishes. I hope that whatever ails her finds a peaceful resolution. You forgot to mention that it isn't just your parents who have the amazing capacity to love - it is also you, and I for one always feel inspired and energised by you. Remember that special bond your parents shared and celebrate it with your Mom. Afterall, there is no greater healing agent than love itself

A Bee! I am allergic to bees...lol. And yet this is a perfect message about resistance and persistence. Thank you soul sista!! Ironically it is pollens in the air that are making my breathing worse. Sometimes the sweetness in life is not all it is cracked up to be-e....
