EVP Research:

On Friday night, Brendan Cook and Barbara McBeath, of Ghost Investigator's Society (G.I.S.), joined Art Bell for the entire program to discuss their latest paranormal adventures and present a new batch of EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) recordings, which some believe are the actual sounds of formerly-living disembodied spirits. McBeath said she once recorded the voice of a deceased friend, though she acknowledged that EVPs could also be coming from beings that never had a body. Cook admitted that he continues this kind research to learn whether or not there really is something on the Other Side.

Among the chilling recordings the two shared was a set from Artists & Heirlooms, an antique store and art gallery in Ogden, Utah, where people have reported seeing the ghost of a man in a felt hat. On one of the clips McBeath asks about the man in the hat, to which a voice cryptically responds, "I hit his back." In another bit of audio, a creepy growling male voice notifies them, "This is my room." On what may be the most tragic recording of the evening Cook can be heard asking, "Can you tell us what it's like where you're at?" A child's voice replies, "I didn't eat today." Cook suggested that our physical cravings could carry over into death.

The next series of clips were recorded at an old theater, purportedly a location known for its paranormal activity. On one, a G.I.S. investigator remarks about a noise, after which a young girl can be heard declaring, "I see a hole down there." At the same place, the group picked up what sounds like an inquisitive child asking to see their equipment. Cook and McBeath, who usually provide a verbal transcript of their recordings, offered another EVP for listeners to guess what had been said. An informal Fast Blast poll revealed that most heard, "Come back." Perhaps even more interesting, the voice seemed to be an immediate response to Cook instructing the group to leave the area.

The pair played other EVPs, including one of a crying baby in cemetery, a woman warning against opening a door, and a lady singing in a foreign tongue. Several listeners offered their opinions via Fast Blast about what language was being spoken by the woman, but a consensus seemed to emerge around Polish. McBeath and Cook also provided recordings from a park in Salt Lake City, Utah, where Cook became frustrated with his equipment and stormed out of a house there. After the door closes, a female's voice says, "That was funny." At that same location, the team also recorded EVPs telling them to "Get out." Some clips from a Victorian mansion were equally disturbing, with one child's voice informing Cook, "She knows you're alone."

Today in Strangeness:

On October 30, 1938, Martians invaded New Jersey! Well, at least that's what many radio listeners thought, when they tuned into Orson Welles' broadcast of War of the Worlds. As part of the realistic radio play, an announcer interrupted a dance orchestra to describe a crash in a farmer's field, and then later he warned of tentacled creatures inside giant attack machines. The public went into a panic--it's estimated that as many as one million people believed a real invasion was underway.

Video Fix:

Orange News has a brief video report about vending machines in China that sell live crabs, as a healthy alternative to junk food. According to the report, the crabs are kept at a chilly 5° C and meant to be eaten alive.

Tonight's Show -- Saturday, October 30th:

Investigative journalist Peter Levenda joins Ian for a discussion about the Satanic undercurrent in American government and the bizarre world of "wandering bishops" who appear throughout the Kennedy assassination.

In the first hour, Zak Bagans and Nick Groff will chat about their TV show Ghost Adventures and work with the paranormal.

From 6-10 pm (PT) on Saturday night, Coast Insiders can hear an Art Bell: Somewhere in Time program from 2/10/98 when 'alien hunter' Derrel Sims talked about his amazing abduction experiences and his research in ufology.

Paranormal Beliefs:

On Thursday's show, Sociology professors at Baylor University, Christopher D. Bader and Carson Mencken discussed details of their survey about paranormal beliefs among various groups and ethnicities in the United States. Their work was meant to be a study of people who believe or research the paranormal, not an investigation of the phenomena itself. Interestingly, in their survey of typical Americans, they found that 68% of the respondents believed in at least one type or aspect of the paranormal. Accordingly, belief in the paranormal could now be considered normal, Mencken commented.

They found that belief in the paranormal tended to break down into two different types-- those that have a desire for adventure or discovery, such as Bigfoot or ghost hunters, and those who seek enlightenment or self-improvement such as people interested in psychic powers and astrology. Belief in UFOs was higher in men, while most of the other paranormal categories had a higher interest by women, Bader reported.

A lot of the paranormal topics are caught between religion and science, and accepted by neither. They noted that some Christian groups warn against involvement in the paranormal, and believe a lot of the phenomena is "the devil in disguise." Bader & Mencken recounted some of their field research which included a Bigfoot hunt, and a trip to a house said to be haunted by 150 demons. The Bigfoot expedition (documented in the episode "Swamp Stalker" of the TV show MonsterQuest) used "call blasting," audio of a screeching primate to try and attract the creature. The next morning, possible Bigfoot tracks were uncovered.

A C2C Insta-Poll, posed the question: Which paranormal beings or experiences do you believe in?

Comet Research:

First hour guest, physicist James McCanney commented on new comet photos taken by the Deep Impact probe. He argued against the theory that comets are dirty snowballs, and said there is no sign of water in the new photos. "Every piece of material in the solar system is discharging the capacitor-- it's an electrical phenomenon," which explains the tails and spikes of comets, he added.

Today in Strangeness:

On November 5, 1975, Travis Walton said he was abducted into a glowing disc-shaped object. Five co-workers allegedly witnessed Walton's body rising up in an intense beam of light. On this day in 1954, Thomas Manners, responsible for keeping 800 clocks wound, got his smock caught in the mechanism of the great clock in the London Law Courts tower, and was strangled to death by the clock he'd tended for so many years.

The Global Future:

President and founder of The Arlington Institute, John L. Petersen, is considered by many to be one of the most informed futurists in the world. On Monday's show, he discussed the global implications of changes that will be occurring after 2012. Indicators are that we are on the verge of substantial change coming from a variety of areas-- "it seems to be a fundamental resetting or reconfiguration of the basis of how we all live on this planet and who we are," he mused. One factor is that our planet and the solar system is transiting through an area of the galaxy that exposes us to higher levels of cosmic rays, and this can affect the sun's behavior, all living things, and even our DNA, he said.

It's possible that during this transition to a new era, Petersen continued, we may discover that we are part of a binary sun system, as a hidden brown dwarf swings into a closer orbit, and affects the dynamics of Earth. As we move on a path toward becoming "new humans," conventional approaches to problems won't be effective, and the government especially won't be responsive to change, he cautioned.

Petersen hailed the Internet as the start of a global nervous system. He foresees that within three years we'll see a new breakthrough in capabilities, allowing people to interface with individuals and groups by being projected into a room with them, with the interpersonal relationships replicated as if you were really there. Several chapters from a multimedia project he's involved with, Transforming through 2012, are available for free, online.

House Clearing:

First hour guest, Sheldon Norberg talked about his work clearing houses of negative energy. People who die from suicides or traumatic situations sometimes leave vibrational energies or thought forms that can make a room feel very uncomfortable, he noted, adding that some spirits of the deceased can become attached to their former homes. He employs intuitive and meditative processes to shift the energies and restore balance to an affected place.

Video Fix:

New UFO video footage recorded in the North of England shows two different unusual objects-- one with a hooked tail, the other disc-shaped.

Today in Strangeness:

The Great Northeast Blackout of 1965 happened on this day, with nine states, as well as two provinces of Canada, hit by a series of power failures that lasted up to 13 hours. In New York City, 800,000 people were caught in the subways, when the blackout struck at rush hour. Though the cause was blamed on human error, many UFO sightings occurred the same night over the area, suggesting to some that their presence was connected to the blackout.

Tonight's Show & Coast Insider Chat, Tuesday, November 9th:

Coast Insiders, Live Chat with George Noory returns this Tuesday night at 8pm PT/11pm ET, when we beta test a new chat system. We'd love to have you join us and offer your feedback (as well as your questions for George), as we try out our new chat software.

Then, on Coast to Coast AM, author and health pioneer Ann Louise Gittleman will discuss the latest scientific data & case studies that show how EMF pollution has reached the point of toxicity, causing fatigue, irritability, weakness, and even illness, and how we can protect ourselves from the danger.

Physics, Metaphysics, & 2012:

On Wednesday's show, former Boeing aerospace engineer Mike Bara discussed the physics behind metaphysics, and how we are approaching a pivotal point of change in world energies and intent. We are in the midst of an apocalypse, but it's not the end of the world; it's a time where things are being revealed that weren't known before, and this creates instability, he said. "The apocalypse is not something that happens to you, it's something that you actively play a role in participating in and choosing the outcome of," he added.

Bara critiqued The Secret and its idea of the Law of Attraction. The physics behind this is faulty, and choice is actually more powerful than attraction, he argued. If we focus on choosing not just for ourselves, but for others and our community, this will help create a better outcome for the tumultuous 2012 era that we're in, he said. Bara cited the importance of hyperdimensional physics, which suggests that everything in the universe is connected to a higher spatial dimension. The ancient Mayans intuitively understood the importance of the alignment with the center of the galaxy in 2012, he noted, adding that such alignments are a key factor in hyperdimensional physics.

Bara also touched on the Exploded Planet Hypothesis, Hopi prophecy, and fallacies in the theory of dark matter. There will be an eclipse over North America on December 21, 2010, exactly two years before the end of the Mayan calendar, and he suggested this would be a good date to stage a global prayer/meditation like the Harmonic Convergence. Bara will be one of the speakers on a 7-day cruise in March to the Mexican Riviera, Cruise Into 2012—Surfing the 9th Wave.

Economy Analysis:

First hour guest, finance expert Charles Goyette spoke about the state of the economy. He was critical of the Federal Reserve's recent plan called 'Quantitative Easing II,' in which they will buy $900 billion in US treasury bonds. "Effectively, it's going to be a wealth transfer to Wall St. from the pockets of the American people" that will further devaluate the dollar, he lamented.

Pic Fix:

Some of the latest images in the Quirky Photo Gallery from Orange News include a cat chasing a fox, the world's smallest road car, and a Van Gogh painting made out of vegetables.

Today in Strangeness:

The " Great Blue Norther of 11/11/11" (November 11, 1911) struck the central United States-- a dramatic cold snap brought in by a powerful storm system that swept away warm, humid air with frigid arctic air. Many Midwestern cities broke record highs and lows on the same day. In Springfield, MO it went from 80 to 40 °F within two hours. Oklahoma City had a high of of 83 °F and a low of 17 °F!

Tonight's Show, Thursday, November 11th:

Part of DARPA’s Project Pegasus as a young child, and now a practicing attorney, Andrew D. Basiago seeks to end the U.S. government's time travel cover-up. He claims to be one of America’s early time-space explorers, and will reveal his experiences with time travel research and development. First hour guest, Dannion Brinkley makes his annual Veteran's Day appearance to talk about his work with veterans, and the Twilight Brigade.

Aerial Mysteries, Aliens, & Dying Coral:

On Tuesday's show, investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe presented four different segments. In her first report, she interviewed Ann Hall about witnessing in May 2010 a large aerial object estimated to be 20 feet by 20 feet with lights spinning vertically and horizontally "like a gyroscope." "This thing gave off like a pulsating yellow and white light. But it was absolutely totally silent!" she said, adding that numerous other strange light sightings had occurred in the Isles of Capri area near Naples, Florida, as recently as October. More here.

In the wake of the BP Gulf spill, National Science Foundation-funded scientists have discovered that in an area south of the BP Macondo well site, 95% of the coral is dead or dying. Linda interviewed Prof. of Biology, Charles Fisher, who went on a dive to examine the deep-water coral communities in the Gulf of Mexico. "We have never in my years of work in the deep Gulf encountered an entire community of corals that were dying," he commented, noting there was strong circumstantial evidence that the corals' devastation was related to the nearby BP spill.

Martin Cole, the son of a Boeing engineer assigned to keep the Minuteman missile sites running in the 1960s and 1970s, spoke with Linda in her third segment. He recounted the times his now deceased father described UFOs interacting with the missiles and even removing the thick concrete tops that cover missile silos and moving them to the side. In her last report, Linda spoke with a nurse in Dallas, Texas who described her encounter with a strange being that had bark-like skin and large slanted black eyes.

Economic Analysis:

First hour guest, talk show host Andre Eggelletion shared his analysis of the economy. The US can't have a true recovery until we start creating more jobs here, he commented. He recommended people invest in precious metals, especially silver, at the current time. Eggelletion also reported on a recent discovery of oil in Jamaica.

New Seattle Affiliate:

We're happy to announce our new affiliate in Seattle, KIRO 97.3 FM, which will begin broadcasting Coast to Coast AM on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 10pm-4am. "Being heard on 97.3 KIRO FM is a dream come true," George Noory commented. "Coast to Coast has been number one in the Seattle-Tacoma market and we look forward to even bigger gains on News Talk 97.3," as new listeners discover the show on the FM dial.

Today in Strangeness:

On this day in 1963, as America watched live on TV, Lee Harvey Oswald was fatally shot by Jack Ruby. On November 24, 1971 a hijacker who became known as D.B. Cooper parachuted from a Northwest Orient plane with $200,000 in ransom money, never to be seen again.

Angels and Light Bodies:

On Monday's show, investigative mythologist William Henry discussed the connection between the seraphim and reptilians, and the transition into the "next human" as beings who enter the rainbow body of light. There are several different kinds of angels, he noted, but the seraphim are of the highest order, beings of pure light and love, who could represent the next level of humanity. "I believe that we're on the verge of duplicating...ascension chambers" that have been depicted in ancient representations, and this is going to be opening the door towards traveling in parallel dimensions-- a technology that could actually be available in the next 10 years, he predicted.

The Tibetans teach that Earth is part of a federation of 14 different star systems, including Sirius, Arcturus, and the Pleiades. Some of the advanced Tibetan masters are said to have evolved into light bodies and traveled to these other systems, possibly through wormholes, said Henry. Beings who have transformed into rainbow or light bodies may appear to us like apparitions, such as when Mother Mary is seen, he continued.

Henry pointed out that the ancients pictured the seraphim as feathered serpents, and depicted them in artworks as having vortex-shaped bodies covered with feathers (see related images). While the seraphim have a serpentine aspect to them, he differentiated them from the reptilians, the so-called tall, crocodile-nosed ETs who have been associated with negative behavior toward humans. The rainbow body tradition is calling upon humanity to expand our hearts and minds and become more full spectrum electrical and spiritual beings, he imparted.

The Neuroscience of Magic:

First hour guests, neuroscientists Stephen Macknik and Susana Martinez-Conde revealed some of the scientific aspects behind magicians' tricks. "Magicians manipulate our attention and awareness by taking control and hacking our brains," said Macknick. They take advantage of the fact that human brains are hard wired to use attention to enhance certain things while suppressing others, he added.

Video Fix:

A video countdown shares 10 Strange Facts About Dreams such as if you are snoring, you cannot be dreaming, and that we spend about six years of our lives dreaming.

Today in Strangeness:

On this date in 1982, Charles Brooks Jr. earned the dubious distinction of being the first person ever executed by lethal injection. While the concept of lethal injection as a means of execution had been around since the late-1800's, it was not until the late 1970's when it became a viable option for executing death row inmates. Since Brooks' demise, lethal injection has become the predominant form of capital punishment in the United States.

Tonight's Show, Tuesday, December 7th:

Documentary filmmaker and director of the of Mile High Horror Film Festival, Timothy Schultz will discuss his search for the true nature of ghosts and hauntings.

Man-Made Monsters:

On Thursday's show, author Dr. Bob Curran discussed various types of man-made monsters, both in history and folklore, as well as current technological advances leading to the creation of an army of "unstoppable" soldiers. These soldiers might adapt to any extreme environment, with their brains chemically altered to not feel pain or fear, or their thoughts manipulated through a microchip. We are creating a monster for defense, yet the obverse side is we are creating a monster that could turn against us, he cautioned.

In looking at Mary Shelley's famous tale, Frankenstein, he detailed how she was inspired by a scientist of her day, Giovanni Aldini, who experimented with electricity, which was then considered a somewhat mysterious process. He experimented with corpses, and "believed that a body which had been dead for a [short] time, could be kickstarted again," said Curran. In an earlier era, alchemists searched for a seed from which a man could be grown like a plant, and some said they'd actually succeeded at this, he added.

Curran shared the story of the Golem, the Jewish legend of a being created from inanimate matter. One such man of clay was said to lumber through the streets of Prague, at the command of a Rabbi, protecting Jews from Anti-Semites. But according to legend, if the Golem was kept in existence for too long, it would become autonomous and out of control. He also touched on tales of ancient robots, the Templars find of a bronze head that could offer prophecies, and American folklore about the ' Melon Heads,' beings said to be genetically created from children in orphanages.

Tips for Healthy Living:

First hour guest, author and motivational speaker Susan Smith Jones talked about her new book, The Joy Factor, which features various practices to remain healthy and youthful. Natural remedies like astragalus root help fortify the immune system, she noted, while reducing stress via relaxation can reduce or eliminate illnesses.

Today in Strangeness:

Ivan Pavlov, who knew a thing or two about making dogs salivate, received the Nobel Prize for physiology (1904). Ed Wood Jr., the creator of such "classics" as Plan 9 From Outer Space, left this earthly plane ('78).

Saturday, December 11, 2010: In the first half, author Mary Roach joins Ian Punnett to discuss why science matters and how science changes us for the better or worse. Followed by internationally renowned hypnotherapist, Rick Collingwood, talking about resolutions and changing behavior for the New Year.

6-10pm PT: Art Bell - Somewhere in Time returns to December 15, 1999, when Open Lines callers speculated about Y2K.

Sunday, December 12, 2010: Former Cayman Islands banking insider, Robert Landori, joins Ian Punnett to discuss the mega-trillion-dollar world of offshore banking and the movers, shakers, con-men, and criminals who inhabit it.

Monday, December 13, 2010: Journalist Jim Marrs will make his case for why he believes the International Elite are manipulating world circumstances using economic collapse, as well as spying on civilians via the Internet to gain personal information for control purposes. Hosted by George Noory.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010: UFO and paranormal researcher Len Kasten will discuss how extraterrestrials are helping us to develop genetic technology, and abducting human females in order to generate a new race of alien hybrids per an agreement made with Eisenhower in 1954. Hosted by George Noory.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010: Constitutional lawyer specializing in food and drug law, Jonathan Emord, will discuss updates on the FDA including their history with hiding the benefits of aspirin and other natural drugs. He'll also talk about his study of the collapse of the European Union, and advances in unmanned military technology. Hosted by George Noory.

Thursday, December 16, 2010: Investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe will discuss unusual bright orange lights observed over ocean beaches in Florida, people's encounters with lizard-skinned beings, and the glowing 'gyroscope'-shaped craft that has been seen in Florida, Japan & Tunisia. The Elite's Conspiracy:

On Monday's show, journalist Jim Marrs made a case for why he believes there is a conspiracy of a handful of elite against the masses. According to Marrs, these elite wish to significantly reduce the number of people on the planet and control the rest. Britain's Prince Philip summed up this attitude when he stated that he wished to reincarnate as a deadly virus in order to reduce the world's population, Marrs noted. To that end, the elite have launched a eugenics attack with genetically modified foods, vaccines, chemtrails, and water fluoridation, he added.

Marrs referenced George Orwell's 1984, which saw the world divided into a few economic blocks or unions. The elite play the blocks against each other for maximum control, while pushing the populace toward an acceptance of a one world government, he explained. They exercise numerous mechanisms of control, including regulations that give banks control over customers' money, fear mongering campaigns on global warming and health care, and the ever-increasing debt crisis. Marrs warned against national (and personal) money borrowing, suggested people prepare for hard times ahead, and lauded the potential economic benefits of America issuing interest-free money.

Marrs listed some frightening affronts to privacy and freedom, specifically identifying the Walmart/Homeland Security snitch program, warrantless vehicle monitoring and searches by police in certain states, the global spy program known as ECHELON, and the very public outcry over airport security scanners. Marrs said former Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, represents Rapiscan -- the company selling the scanners. If they really make people safer in the air, why did TSA turn off the scanners on the busiest travel day of the year, he questioned. He also pointed out that radiation given off by these scanners has been shown to "uncouple your DNA."

Marrs encouraged Americans to pay attention, to see the people behind the scenes looting the country, and to stand firm against being controlled by them. He spoke briefly about the Kennedy assassination, the recent sighting of a mysterious missile off the southern California coast, and the difference between a democracy and a republic as well.

UFO/ET Topics:

In the first hour, Michael Luckman, director of the New York Center for Extraterrestrial Research, commented on several UFO/ET related topics, including the promised Wikileaks disclosure, Zecharia Sitchin's theory about humankind's alien ancestry and possible return of the Anunnaki, and NORAD officer Stanley Fulham's prediction of face-to-face communication with ETs in 2014. "There's not even a question anymore that disclosure is right around the corner," Luckman said. He also spoke about his investigation into a supposed landing of a UFO at Holloman AFB, the strange physical changes he witnessed in crystal skulls during a Mayan ceremony, and an upcoming film about an intergalactic 'battle of the bands' called Alien Rock Band.

Today in Strangeness:

Happy Monkey Day! Created in the year 2000 by artist Casey Sorrow, Monkey Day takes place every December 14th and is an "annual celebration of all things simian." The event is seen as both a lighthearted day of tomfoolery as well as an attempt to raise awareness of the plight of certain monkey species. While still a young "holiday," the popularity of Monkey Day is growing by the year and, in 2005, Peter Jackson released King Kong on December 14th, perhaps as a nod to this off-beat event.

Video Fix:

Sean Dudley of East Tennessee Paranormal Research Society shares footage of the group's July 2006 investigation of the Bijou Theater in Knoxville, featuring real-time video, slow motion and stills of what could be a 'real ghost'.

Tonight's Show, Tuesday, December 14th:

UFO and paranormal researcher Len Kasten will discuss how extraterrestrials are helping us to develop genetic technology, and abducting human females in order to generate a new race of alien hybrids per an agreement made with Eisenhower in 1954.
