| Woah! That's amazing, Goth. My cloud story is not as poignant as yours, but it reminds me of the time Mr Gem and I were out walking last year and I saw a giant puppy face in the clouds, hovering above where I know there is a big pet shop. I didn't know the name of the dogs but I knew there would be some white fluffy puppies with round faces at the shop, so I said we had to go there and look at them! He didn't believe me but we went anyway. There were some cute pomeranian puppies, but I was disappointed that the white ones weren't there, as that's what I expected because of the cloud... on our way out, I discovered they DID have the white ones in another part of the shop! On that day I could proudly say "I told you so!" They turned out to be a bichon frise/maltese cross, and that is exactly the big puppy face that I saw in the clouds. On another topic, I hate big moths - and a big moth flew into the bathroom last night. | |

| Amazingly... I see now that the MOTH is highly important to me, especially right now. http://www.sayahda.com/cyc3.html - Quote :
- The Moth
Moths live in all but polar regions. The wings, bodies, and legs of the moth are covered with numerous touch hairs that come off if it is handled. Because of this the moth is highly sensitive to touch. They can feel, smell, taste and determine temperatures with their feathery antennae. The tiny pegs upon them serve as receptors. This gives the moth the ability to perceive everything with clarity. Those with this totem usually have strong psychic and healing abilities. They must be careful not to pick up other peoples problems and carry them around in their own energy field. If this happens confusion and irritability can set in.
The process of metamorphosis is part of the magic the moth holds. The egg stage symbolizes the birth of an idea. The larvae stage indicates the laying of a foundation. The chrysalis stage represents the process of creating, and the winged stage allows it to take flight and explore new territory.
One of the most interesting characteristics of the moth is how it wraps its wings around itself. When resting, they either fold their wings, wrap them around their body, or hold them extended by their sides. This suggests a basic nurturing quality and those with this medicine often find themselves in some sort of care giving role.
The hearing ability of the moth is acute. They are capable of detecting ultra sound because their hearing organs are found on their legs. These enable them to sense vibrations emitted around them. Paying attention to what is being said and what isn't being said is part of the teachings the moth holds. Observing the body language of others is helpful.
When the moth appears in our life it is asking us to pay attention to issues of sensitivity. Are you overly sensitive or insensitive to those around you? Are you involved in a situation that needs to be reevaluated? Are you honoring the integrity of all concerned?
The transformative qualities of the moth are numerous. It shows us how to develop and refine our psychic gifts. The moth is an optimist and an opportunist. It can teach us how to release unwanted influences and fly into the discovery of our personal joy. http://kelvenst0ne.tripod.com/id23.html - Quote :
- The Moth
The Moth symbolizes mystery, communication and immortality. In many cultures, Moths are said to be the spirits of the dead, returned to Earth as winged creatures of freedom and silent beauty. Moths are also attracted to light... I had a vivid dream about a moth when I was around 5 years old and I never forgot it because it freaked me out. Also when I was a little older, maybe around 10, there was a friendly little moth that lived in our family home and we called it Molly. Big moths still freak me out though - I don't like them flying in my face. | |

| GOOD MORING HARMONYGIRL I went to bed last nite thinking , about what you posted here: Harmonygirl Quote: Does anyone see any new ttoems for me in their sights???? it would be interesting tosee what you come up with..... Sooo upon awaking, I stepped outside with Camera in hand and took the first Animal Totem that come to me, while thinking about you. I got some pics of this LOVE-ly DOVE sitting in our side tree, just off the back deck. Well, I do have pics of her, but she's still waiting to BE downloaded and posted here. I had just enough time to take her pics, but not enough battery time left on my camera to download her Quote taken from Morning Star's " DOVE TOTEM " BE-low: Delay! Yet one of the things that Dove teaches us IS patience and so I expect Dove wanted to drive this message home. So I well get back to you on posting some pics with her later tonite !! !! Dove Medicine As I first began working on this page, I became rather fascinated by the variety of Doves (and pigeons, also related to the Dove family) that exist in the world. Long familiar with Rock Doves, Mourning Doves, Emerald Doves and Rose Crowned Fruit Doves, I felt there was actually more to this species that I was not seeing. This led to my doing some research on Doves in general and finding several new ones I had never heard of before, including the Crimson Crowned Fruit Dove that has turned out to be especially dear to my heart. For all of you who have waited patiently for such a long time now for this page to be completed, I do apologize for the delay! Yet one of the things that Dove teaches us IS patience and so I expect Dove wanted to drive this message home. Near my home, there are a number of Mourning Doves that I hear calling from time to time. Someone once told me that they only call when they are in the shade, I presume if this is true, its because they want instinctively to make it more difficult for birds of prey and other predators to spot them. Ted Andrews mentions in his Book on the Animal Wise Tarot that when we hear a Dove calling, it indicates that life is about to settle, to become more peaceful and calm. This too I have found to be true and yet I have noticed one other thing: I almost always meet someone I could become interested in or have someone flirt with me outrageously shortly after hearing a Mourning Dove call! Males of this type of Dove call to attract a mate, and all Doves are sacred to the Goddess Aphrodite or Venus, the Goddess of love and sexual attraction. This is an important component to Dove medicine, for they are so often hunted by predators, their ability to reproduce rapidly and in very large numbers helps to insure their kind will survive. For many years I have been struck by how, to put it bluntly, unintelligent many Rock Doves appear to be. This is not a slam against Doves in general or against the folks that carry their medicine, not at all! Yet, Rock Doves really are not the most intelligent of birds and yet they thrive in vast numbers despite repeated attempts on their part to be run down by motor cars, bicyclists, pedestrians (of course I have seen vast numbers of humans here that do the same thing, simply amazing.) Drivers here I must confess do take pity on these birds and have come to a complete stop to allow one or more to saunter across the street as it doesn't seem to occur to them to try and fly out of the way. Perhaps it is because they do tend to nest and breed close to humans that they have simply lost their innate sense of self-preservation through fear of humans. This can be a warning to Dove people however, its important to recognise that not all people will have your best interests at heart and you may find yourself being "preyed" upon by others if you innocently go walking out into the middle of a busy thoroughfare with no thought that others may be aiming for you. Not all folks unfortunately, are kind enough to stop. What Rock Dove's do really well however and this I am sure helps to keep their populations at peak levels, is a mating dance that must be seen to be believed! The males puff out their feathers and dance, bobbing their heads and shaking their tail feathers, its really rather fascinating to watch. No matter what may be happening around them, they continue this dance focusing solely on the female. For Dove people, this is an indication that they too in order to be creative and productive they must focus solely on the tasks at hand and not allow other's to infringe upon their space and focus. In doing so, Dove people will find they too can thrive and be highly productive! Doves in general and the people that carry their medicine are truly some of the most gentle and giving creatures and people on the planet. There is a sense of innocence about them that many others are attracted to, though its important that Dove people do be aware that some of the attention might mean the other person is interested in them as a "meal"! Its not uncommon for many Dove people to complain that their ideas or creative projects are snatched out from underneath them by those that seek to take short cuts and not do their own work. This often happens because the Dove person appears to be "defenceless" and Doves themselves are not known for having many obvious defenses against predators. These folks are not likely to want to make a fuss or hurt other people's feelings. While some Dove people do indeed learn to defend themselves and their work mightily, others find that be having numerous projects and ideas flowing, again we are back to the "reproducing" aspect of Dove medicine, that some of these will escape being stolen or used by others and the Dove person will finally receive the credit that is due them. Because of this too, it is important for Dove people to find ways of protecting their work and creative endeavours through other means such as copyrighting. Having something with a date on it can go a long way in proving that the Dove person had the idea first. Its not so much a matter of trying to "beat out" everyone else as it is the principle of credit going where it is due. Dove people often do carry a strong sexual energy and this can be used not only for intimate relationships but for creative endeavours as well. Not only is Dove sacred to Aphrodite but also in the very early Greek myths the Goddess Eurynome took the form of a Dove to lay an egg from which all of manifest life sprang. Because Doves are such gentle, peaceful birds, those who carry their energy may also find that they need lots of quiet and calm space in order to allow their creative energy to flourish. The same is often true of relationships, the Dove person finds things flow more smoothly when their home environment is as tranquil and peaceful as possible. Doves are also associated with the Pleiades. In the myth, the daughters of Pleione and Atlas were being Pursued by Orion for seven years. They finally escaped when Zeus agreed to transform them into Doves. 7 is a mystical number and indicates an opening between this world and the mystical realms. Those with Dove as a totem often do seem to find that the number 7 appears for them frequently and has great significance and meaning. For some, it may be that they have felt pursued or dogged by something that has been long term and may last anywhere from 7 weeks to 7 years though Thankfully not always nearly so long! It is important though that the Dove person understand that "rescue" will come and that the experience is meant to be transformative in some way. The person will find at the end that the boon they receive is so often much greater than the bane of the experience. The names of the sisters who flew into the sky to become the Pleiades are: Asterope, Merope, Alcyone, Maia, Electra, Taygete and Celaeno. Reading about them as individuals may also be helpful for a fuller understanding of Dove medicine. For example, in another myth, Alcyone was married to Ceyx and when he died, she was stricken with grief and threw herself into the sea. She was then transformed into a Halcyon, a relative of the Kingfisher, and she then came to represent the Halcyon days, a time at the Winter Solstice when the sea is especially calm and peaceful. Halcyon also represents prosperity, being free from cares and concerns about both the material as well as the spiritual world. For those who feel in resonance with Alcyone, it can indicate a time when the cares and burdens, even grief that one has been shouldering is about to come to an end and be transformed for the better. Some things to pay attention to when Dove appears: People often find that unexpected and unseen support and assistance comes when they need it most. Travel is often indicated when Dove appears prominantly, and this may include relocation to a new home. A death, either physical (of someone one knows or is close to) or symbolic (within the individual) may occur and while it may bring grief, there is also quite often a sense of relief and gratitude that suffering has finally ended and peace will soon be at hand. A new relationship may begin or an old one rekindled. The ways and means of leaving a destructive or difficult situation is at hand. Life is about to become much more peaceful and satisfying on all levels. By Morning Star Oh, by the way Harmonygirl she's a " Mourning DOVE " !! !!

| HARMONYGIRL, look what I found that I had posted in the Numberology thread EAR-lier: RIGHT BACK AT YA !! !! Subject: Re: Numerology Today at 3:46 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solane Star wrote: This comment here made by harmonygirl is what inspired me to post the meaning of my Star name , " Your screen name is very comforting for me.... thank you.... " harmony No Thank-You harmonygirl, right back at ya !! !! Solane Star is a 7 vibe The number 7 meaning: The number 7 vibes to the planet Neptune. It represents spirituality, sensitivity, sympathy, and mystery. 7 is the number of illusions and delusions, sometimes deception -- but also the numberof healing and miracles, faith -- and dreams that come true. Secretly, they have an intense interest in Esoteric Mysteries, mythology, spacecraft or U.F.O.s...and the entire forest of the unknown. They often possess the gifts of intuition and clairvoyance and a certain quieting, calming magnetism which has a great influence over others. Often their mere presence has a sotthing effect on a troubled person. The number 7 vibration is associated wit peculiar ideas about religion, a dislike of following the beaten path, and a tendency to adopt political beliefs which are unique and somewhat non-orthodox. It's not unusual for a 7 person to discover, found, or believe in a new religious concept. The 7 person will either travel extensively at some time in the life or else read avidly books about foreign people and faraway lands. Many people influenced by the 7 vibration are strongly attracted to the sea and some time are associated with sailing, water sports, or the Navy. There's a tendency to be anxious about the future, which is why 7 people need to know they have a rock of financial security somewhere in the background, lest the waters fate sweep them away. Yet, they care little about material possessions or accumulating great wealth. 7 people can earn large sums of money through their original ideas, but they're likely to make substantial contributions to charities or institutions. When they gravitate towards the arts, they make fine dancers. singers, poets, writers, actors or actresses. In their own queit, laid back way, people influenced by the number 7 have ambitions they don't discuss with others, and these are always tinged with a philosophical outlook. They bless others with the grace of their sympathetic understanding of pain and suffing, which is why friends, relatives, and business associates unburden their troubles to the 7 person. There's a strong leaning towards privacy in the 7 vibration, and these people prefer to keep their own problems to themselves. (Soooo True !! !!) They shrink from prying questions, and have a honnor of " big brother " or anything they concder to be an invasion of their privacy. Refined manners, an artistic temperament, and a sensitive nature make-up the 7 essence, and don't let these people fool you with their sometimes taciturn nature... you'll be surprised if you knew all the strange thoughts that swim through their minds when they're communing with themselves. ( Also so true) lol !! !! If you can coax them to talk about what they're thinking, you'll not only be surprised, you'll be fascinated when you learn the secrets of their Neptunian world. But the 7 person must find you trustworthly before he or she shares these inner streams of contemplation... and you'll have to earn that trust by proving you're not judgmental or prejudiced. 7 people are rarely either. (Also so True) That pretty much wraps that up in a nutshell. This was taken from my Linda Goodman book Star Signs This 7 vibe does go well with my Sun Sign Taurus(May 8th) and my given name (Birth name) vibe which is a 8 vibe also. I always turn it on it's side though for infinity 8 and I also draw a line though the two lobes in the middle of the 8, thus gives me the Balance I need. Thank-You Solane Star WOW !! !! !! !!

| I interpret death as equalling change. I have found in relation to divination or symbolism, it rarely means physical death. More often it relates to shifting energy or releasing that which no longer serves a purpose in preparation for new energy to enter. I had a little animal visit me this afternoon. This is one I have never seen here before although I have often heard him and his mates up on the roof.. The name "tirhatuan" is generally thought to be an aboriginal word referring to the "flying or gliding possums" which once abounded in the area. The Sugar Glider (Petaurus breviceps) is a small gliding possum native to eastern and northern mainland Australia, New Guinea, and the Bismarck Archipelago, and introduced to Tasmania.
It is around 16 to 20 cm (6.3 to 7.5 in) in length, with a slightly longer tail, and weighs between 90 and 150 grams (3 to 5.3 oz). The fur is generally pearl grey, with black and cream patches at the base of the pink ears. The tail tapers only moderately and the last quarter of it is black, often with a white tip. The muzzle is short and rounded. Possum -Possum knows when to use drama and when to run. He plays dead when threatened, using an appearance of weakness as his greatest strength. Sometimes it is better for us to be quiet or to retreat or use cleverness to achieve a desired result. Possum also teaches us to get the babies off our back to allow them to grow up.My little sugar glider was a baby...just the size of a large mouse or baby rat. Interestingly, the symbolism of a baby wasn't lost on me. I was outside garden (beginning something new) with my kids. I was sitting on the grass enjoying the crisp autumn afternoon and feeling so happy to watch my kids and our pets and just 'BE-ing". Then this tiny possum appeared in a tree that is quite significant to me, near the house. Strange thing, these little guys are nocturnal and he was out at 4 in the afternoon. So I really took notice of him. I watched him climbing higher and higher towards the sky (light). To say that I felt the connection and what it meant is an understatement. POSSUM The possum is the deviation expert in the animal kingdom. Working under the cover of the night possums movements are secretive and mysterious The possum teaches us to use one's intellect and intuition to find the way out of tricky situations. An attacker loses interest if the victim appears indifferent and uninjured. Possum people are great strategists and protectors. They are not phased by superiority and will calculate to confuse or surprise opponents.Source: goddess realmPossum knows when to use drama and when to run. | Dove Where I live one of the most familiar sounds of a summer evening or early morning is the cooing of the mourning dove. When all the other birds are asleep (except the robin and nightingale), the dove's haunting call fills the air. Thus, this bird is associated with these transitional periods in the day's cycle, during which, according to mystical and magical traditions, the veils between the physical and spiritual worlds are at their thinnest. I find it interesting that the crystal, amethyst, which is the color the skies of sunset and sunrise often assume, is, like the dove, related to peacefulness. Amethyst is one of the most popular crystals, and a comfort to those of us who live in a world which seems to be characterized by stress, tension, and major changes. It is certainly a world in which we all need peace, and we can work with both amethyst and Dove Medicine to achieve it, especially when we are going through major changes and transitions. The peace symbolized by Dove is that of the deepest kind. It quiets our worried and troubled thoughts, and allows us to find renewal in the silence of mind. It teaches us that, regardless of external circumstances, this quality of peace is within us, and always available to us. The regular practices of deep breathing and meditation can help us to find inner peace and enable us to move calmly and with purpose during the hours between dawn and dusk.
